In loving memory of Anita Thibeault nee Doire

It is with great sadness the family of Anita Thibeault, née Doire, annouces her passing at the Timmins and District Hospital, on July 10th 2020 at the age of 93.
Daughter of the late Marie-Louise (Martial) and Arthur Doire, Anita rejoins her son Renald and her beloved husband of 70 years Roger. She is survived by her children; Rejean (Diane) Thibeault of Muskoka, Ginette (late Robert) Rabb of Porcupine, Nicole Saarinen of Sturgeon Falls, Jacques Thibeault of Timmins, René (Nicole) Thibeault of Porcupine, Armelle Thibeault, Linda Thibeault and Louise Thibeault all of Timmins. She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. Anita was the last surviving member of her family, and leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom still called on her since she left her hometown in the province of Quebec in 1956.
Raised on a farm in the small village of La Reine Qc. Anita grew up a hardworking woman with a strong Catholic faith and great pride in her French Canadian heritage. Following her wedding to Roger on May 30th 1945, they welcomed their first child, Rejean in 1946, followed by Ginette in 1948, Nicole in 1949, Rénald in 1951 Jacques in 1953 and René in 1956. In order to provide their growing family an opportunity to learn the English language, Roger suggested the family relocate to Ontario and so, in 1956 with 6 children in tow, the family crossed the border to place their roots in the town of Iroquois Falls, where the last 3 children, Armelle, Linda and Louise would arrive to complete the family.
Anita’s motherly care and devotion was felt by all who knew her. Often opening her home to care for others’ children as well as her own grandchildren and later, great grandchildren, Anita always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She tirelessly ensured there were always fresh baked goods to eat as the smell of fresh baked pies, meat pies and crepes, to name a few, would fill the home.
She was also a wonderful seamstress, creating a variety of articles of clothing for her children to wear as well as knitting mittens and socks for the winter months. She relished the simple things in life and time spent with her loved ones and although she has now passed, the legacy she has left will continue to live on for generations to come.
The family wishes to extend the most heartfelt thanks to the personal support workers from Care Partners, with special mention to Suzanne Labelle who gave care to Mrs. Thibeault for the last 5 years. To LeeAnn Barette from Community and Home Care Services, the Bayshore Nursing staff, her family doctor, Dr. Tammy Hopkins, as well as Dr. Kathleen Munnoch, who both provided excellent medical care and support. Last but not least, to the Hospice Center at the Timmins District Hospital and the wonderful nurses.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Center of the Timmins District Hospital.
