Mr. Alvin Bender
1932-2017
It is with great sadness that the family announces his death in his home on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the age of 85 years.
Loving husband and best friend of 62 years of Marla (nee Clark) and Beloved father of Carol Bender of Matheson, Sandra (Gilbert Lamarche) Bender of Iroquois Falls, and Mark (Vola Roberts) Bender of Blind River. He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren; Stephanie (Colin) Purcell, Craig (Daphine Alarie) Towsley, Blake (Tashia Doiron) Towsley, Gregory (Caitlin Kleiza) Bender, Alyssa (Eric Boulard) Bender, Mackenzie Roberts, Brady Roberts and Spencer Roberts as well as his Great Grandchildren Corbyn and Everleigh. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Ida Bender of Elliott Lake, his brother-in-law Bruce Sanford of Barrie as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Margaret Bender, his siblings Howard Bender, Helen (the Late William) Andrews, Cecil (the Late Vera) Bender, Jean (the Late Albert) MacMain, Ralph (Ida) Bender, Clifford (the Late Jean) Bender, Mildred (Bruce) Sanford, Marjory Bender and Dorothy Bender.
Family and Friends may call at St. Andrews United Church, Matheson on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Laura Hutchison presiding. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Matheson Food Bank, the Anson General Hospital Auxiliary or to a charity of your choice (cheques only please) and would be appreciated by the family.
